The address is the first difference
Our address is a subdomain: yourname.tapmy.link. Your name comes before the brand, so the link reads as yours. Linktree uses a path: linktr.ee/yourname. Their brand comes first, and that is what makes the link recognisable — people know where a linktr.ee link goes before they tap it.
Neither shape is better. A subdomain sits closer to a personal site; a path on a well-known domain borrows that domain’s recognition. If you want a domain of your own, Linktree offers custom domains on its paid plans and we do not offer them at all.
What each product is built for
Linktree is a platform. Alongside links it sells products, takes payment, collects email addresses, runs A/B tests and counts clicks on every link. There is an integrations marketplace, mobile apps and a deep template library. If your page is a storefront, that is the shape of tool the job wants.
Tapmy.link is a page. An account holds up to ten, each with its own address, template, links and statistics. Ten templates, an accent colour, a background image with adjustable darkening, list or grid layout. Blocks cover links with a note, badge or card image, social rows with real brand marks for around thirty-five platforms, messenger buttons, and embeds for YouTube, Spotify, Apple Music, SoundCloud and TikTok. Up to eighty blocks, drag and drop, visibility per block.
Two things follow. Pages render on the server and ship almost no JavaScript, so they work with scripts disabled. They set no cookies, so there is no cookie banner. Statistics are page views and unique visitors over 7 and 30 days. Give a link a short path of its own — mia.tapmy.link/shop — or a separate destination for iPhone and Android, and it travels through a redirect we serve, so its taps are counted there, still with no cookie, and the editor shows the last 30 days per link. A link that still points straight at its destination keeps that address in the page and is not counted at all. What we still do not have is what Linktree builds on top: referrers per link, funnels, A/B tests.
What moving costs
Moving the links is the cheap part. Paste the address of your public Linktree page; we read it and show the links we found, and you tick the ones worth keeping. An Instagram handle brings across the photo, name and bio, so a page takes minutes.
The rest is worth naming plainly. Your old address lives as long as the old account, so plan the moment you change the link in your bio. Accumulated statistics do not travel. Anything built on their selling, email or scheduling features has no replacement on our side.
