A short link that carries your name

Every shortener puts somebody else’s brand in the middle of your link. On your own subdomain, the brand in the middle is yours.

What a short path is

Any link block on your page can be given a path: type «shop» into the short-link field and the same destination is reachable at yourname.tapmy.link/shop. The long address stays where it was; the short one is an extra door into it.

That door is worth having because a link has two lives. One is the tap on your page, where nobody reads the URL. The other is everywhere a URL has to be read, typed or heard: a business card, a podcast, a poster, a package insert, the last slide of a talk. A forty-character tracking URL cannot live in the second world at all.

  1. Open the link block in the editor and find the short-link field under the address.
  2. Type a word: shop, menu, book, press, tickets. Lowercase letters, digits and hyphens, up to forty characters.
  3. Copy it, or take the QR code beside the field.
  4. Change the destination whenever you like — the path keeps working and points at the new address.

Where it earns its keep

  • On paper. A card that says yourname.tapmy.link/menu is read once and typed correctly; a link with a query string is not.
  • Out loud. You can say a short path on a call, in a podcast or from a stage, and people arrive without a screenshot.
  • In a bio elsewhere. Some platforms allow one link only; a short path lets you send people to one specific thing without rebuilding the page.
  • In counting. A tap on a short path passes through our redirect, so it is counted — while a plain link keeps its destination in the page and stays uncounted.

The rules, and what is counted

A path is unique within one page, so two links cannot both be «shop». Service names such as api, go, gate and media are ours and are refused with a clear message. Nothing is case-sensitive: Shop and shop are the same path, stored lowercase, because an address said out loud has no capitals.

Taps are counted on the redirect, with the same daily pseudonym as page views and no cookie at all. You see them per link in the editor. Links marked 18+ are never counted: they go through the age gate first, and the gate exists precisely so that the destination appears nowhere, including in our own statistics.
